Visit to Akshaya Patra Foundation’s Mid-Day Meal Kitchen

On 13th September 2024, 10 students from classes VI, VII, and VIII of Salwan Boys Sr. Sec. School, along with their midday meal incharges, visited the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s mid-day meal kitchen. This foundation plays a crucial role in ensuring that children do not have to choose between food and education, providing both through the PM-POSHAN initiative.

The Akshaya Patra team warmly welcomed the students and guided them through the different areas of the kitchen. They showed the machines, utensils, cooking areas, and the special tools used to prepare meals. The students were excited to learn how food is cooked in a clean and hygienic way, mostly by machines.

After the tour, the students enjoyed lunch at the foundation’s office. They were not only impressed by how their mid-day meal is prepared but also amazed by the dedication and hard work of the team to feed thousands of school children every day. This visit helped them appreciate the effort behind their daily meal.
