The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Salwan Boys School on 14th August 2024. The school was adorned with tricolour decorations, enhancing the patriotic atmosphere. The flag was hoisted by Shri Anil Kumar, Director Salwan Boys Sr Sec School. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
The event was well anchored by Himanshu Burman and Anmol of Class XI. Aryan from Class XI delivered an inspiring Hindi speech, while Aditya Kumar Jha of Class VII, Prateek Raj (VII), Manan (XII), and Vihaan (VI) captivated everyone with their eloquent English speeches.
Students from classes VII and VIII sang ‘Desh hai pukarta, pukarti maa Bharti….’ beautifully, evoking a deep sense of patriotism. Nurshed of Class VIII recited an impressive English poem. Class XI presented a powerful nukkad natak on ‘Sabka saath, sabka vikas,’ emphasizing unity and development. An energetic medley of English and Hindi songs by students of classes XII, XI and VIII added vibrancy to the celebration. Som Das of Class XI sang ‘Mein waapis aayunga….’ with fervour, while a medley dance by Class VII students and a performance by Class VI students on ‘O desh mere….’ were captivating. Samar of Class VI danced wonderfully to ‘Teri mitti….’ and students of classes X and XI danced to Hindi song ‘Dil diya hai, jaan….’
Shri Mahi Pal Kaushik, the PTA President addressed the students, motivating them to be exemplary citizens. Shri Anil Kumar, Director SBS, emphasized the importance of knowing our rich culture, being good citizens, and fulfilling our duties to aid the nation’s growth. In his vote of thanks, Principal Shri Naresh Kumar encouraged the students to excel in both sports and studies. He also highlighted the remarkable achievement of Master Yatharth Singh of Class XII in the Delhi Premier League.
