‘Education from the person of a teacher to the person of a student’ – Prof RP Sharma

An Educational Meet in memory of Prof RP Sharma was organized by Salwan Public School on September 7, 2024. The event was attended by Mr. Naresh Kumar, Offig Principal, and Ms. Ravinderjeet Kaur, PGT Chemistry of Salwan Boys Sr Sec School. The theme of the meet was “Education: Challenges, Intent, and Practices.” The discussions focused on addressing critical issues related to the well-being of children through effective teaching strategies.

Dr. Rashmi Sethi (Leading Energy in Education, EIE) and Dr. Neelam M. Bali (Associate Professor, Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, DU) warmly welcomed all participants. The meet featured distinguished speakers, including Prof. C.K. Saluja (Director Academics & Trustee, Sanskrit Promotion Foundation), Dr. Indu Khetarpal (Consultant, NTA, Former Principal, Salwan Public School), Dr. Rajesh Hassija (Director, Indraprastha Group of Schools), Prof. Girishwar Mishra (President, National Academy of Psychology, India), Shri Ashok Pandey (Fellow, Global Peace Foundation, USA), Smt. Anita Sharma (Member, General Council, NCERT, Principal, SD Public School, Delhi), Prof. N.K. Uberoi (Dean, DLP IMT Ghaziabad), Prof. Sadhna Parashar (Senior Director, NTA), and Prof. Kapil Kapoor (Padma Bhushan 2023).

Key takeaways from the meet included the importance of adopting an inclusive and comprehensive approach in education. Teachers were urged to focus on the holistic development of students, nurturing both intellectual and physical growth. Additionally, the speakers emphasized the importance of empowering students by discovering and fostering their innate skills and values.
